Bookies Can’t Separate Chisnall and Waites in BDO Darts World Championship

Bookmakers are finding it difficult to separate James Waites and Dave Chisnall when it comes to picking a winner of the BDO Darts World Championship. The tournament, at Lakeside, has reached the quarter-final stages with them set to be concluded this evening. Both Bet 365 and Sky Bet cannot separate Waites and Chisnall. Bet365 have the both players at 5/2 and Sky Bet have them both 9/4 to take the prize.
Yesterday Chisnall booked his place in the semi-finals with a 5-4 sets win over Ted Hankey and second seed James Waite’s quarter-final match with Martin Phillips is set to get underway at 5:30 tonight. Yorkshireman Waites will be looking to bounce back from a shock exit from the Winmau World Masters in September and go one round further than he managed last year.
Twenty-nine year old Chisnall faces Tony O’Shea in the semi-final having notched up impressive wins against number four seed Daryl Fitton and reigning champion Hankey.
O’Shea is third favourite with Bet 365,Sky Bet, Totesport and Victor Chandler all placing him at 11/4 to get past Chisnall and go all the way to the title.
The fourth and final quarter-final which will commence at 7:45 is between outsiders Gary Thompson and Martin Adams. Adams is believed to be the favourite of the two to take home the coveted World Championship with Adams at 3s with the majority of bookmakers and Thompson the rank outsider available at 40 with BetFred.
