Zamora For England?

Fulham last night made a step towards the Round Of 16 in the Europa league with an impressive victory over reigning champions Shakhtar Donetsk with the highlight a wonder goal from on form Bobby Zamora.
Roy Hodgson's men were the weaker team for the majority of the match but will be pleased with the way that they fought so hard for the victory to take a one goal advantage into the second leg in Donetsk on February 25th.
Striker Bobby Zamora, who has been tipped as an outsider to make the England squad for this summer's World Cup, scored the winner with a thumping 25-yarder after goals from Zoltan Gera and Luiz Fabiano respectively, had the score tied at 1-1.
Zamora, who's form has been a major factor in Fulham's recent success, has been tipped by team-mate Danny Murphy to figure in South Africa in June as he feels there are few forwards out there that offer as much as Zamora does.
Murphy, after last night's game, said: "He said: "You can see his confidence is sky-high, he has got better each month with his goal scoring, confidence and all-round game.
"If he carries on the way he is, he's got to have a shout at the England squad."
It is thought that with Wayne Rooney and Jermain Defoe virtually guaranteed of a spot on the plane, there are two more places up for grabs for centre forwards.
Zamora is an outside bet to make the squad with Bet365 at 14/1 behind favourites Emile Heskey at 1/6 and Peter Crouch at 1/5 for these two places in Capello's squad.
With three months left in the Premier League Season though, a lot can change and many will feel that on this form Zamora has as good a chance as any of making the final 22.
Despite Zamora's winner Fulham face a tough task in making it through the two-leg tie, especially with Shakhtar scoring a possibly crucial away goal.
Fulham are a long 9/2 with Sportingbet to win the second leg, though they will be buoyed by the fact that a draw will suffice to set up a next round clash with giants Ajax or Juventus.
