This Weeks Poker Qualifiers: French Eurosport Bet
Currently there are a large number of opportunities to qualify for some potentially lucrative poker tournaments.
One opportunity that might appeal to players based in the UK is the French Poker Championship. This is a heads-up championship which will be held between 16th and 17th March. It is being run in conjunction with EurosportBet, an adjunct of Eurosport. It will take place in the Evian Casino and the total prize pool is €160,000 The tournament will event will be televised by Eurosport and broadcast to a total of 59 countries and it is anticipated that it will be watched in 120,000,000 homes throughout Europe.
There are 32 invited players who are representative of some of the best European players on the circuit and they have been chosen for their ability to consistently perform at a high level. The tournament will be held as part of the French Poker Open which will run from the 15th to the 21st March.
In addition to the invited participants, poker players in the UL can qualify for this event on EurosportBet from now until 7th March and there are qualifiers being held on every day with prizes being worth €7,000 which includes the buy-in of €5,500 plus hotel accommodation and incidental expenses.
The qualifier buy-in is only $5+$0.50 and the top five winners of each qualifier will win a seat to the second round where the thirty five lucky players will compete for the top prize on 7th March at 8.30 pm. In addition there is a last chance event for the second round on 7th March at 5.00 pm.
The Evian Casino is a spectacular casino in the old fashioned French style and of course Evian is the source of the famous mineral water. Lying on the shores of Lake Geneva and just a stones throw from Switzerland it should provide an interesting backdrop to some exciting poker.
