Black Cats Take On Bolton at Home

The Black Cats take on Bolton at the Stadium of Light this Tuesday in an effort to relieve themselves of an abysmal run operating in the Premiership so far this year.
Steve Bruce’s team have not inspired confidence so far this season, not managing a single victory away or at home, but the attitude of the players seems to be positive as Kenwyne Jones comments, “We're not carrying the fear of being relegated," he then added, “We're close but we're not going to talk about it like we're in the bottom three”.
The absence of Reid and Henderson may not be the best lift for their ambitious enthusiasm, however, looking back at their last meeting with Bolton, in August of last year, the team may find some reconciliation in their 1-0 success over Owen Coyle’s side.
Bolton haven’t exactly rivalled The Black Cats performance this season, only managing 3 goals in the past 5 games with 9 conceded against them.
The team’s last success occurred against West Ham earlier this weekend resulting in a 2-1 victory.
Owen Coyle will be fighting for a victory on Tuesday, not only for much needed points, but to acquire a much needed defeat over Sunderland, an event that hasn’t occurred in nearly two years, since the Bolton boys defeated Bruce’s side 4-1 on 2008.
This objective could be made difficult by the extensive injury list that Bolton are enduring this season. The list reads; O’Brien, Davis, Cahill, McCann, Davies, Holden and Basham all relieved of duty.
Cahill’s long battle for fitness, a battle that required the player have extensive surgery, could be coming to an end as Coyle noted, "He can't do anything contact-wise for another two weeks but after that he'll be able to step up. I would hope he'd be back within four weeks”
The result of this fixture is extremely hard to determine, both teams are motivated to succeed for similar reason. Factors such as The Black Cats operating at home, their recent defeat of Bolton and Owen Coyle’s roster of absentees could push Sunderland to acquire their first victory of the season.
The odds stand at 1/1, in favour of Sunderland, with Bet365.
