Ronaldinho Respects Rooney
Two time FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho has spoken of his admiration for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney ahead of the clash between United and Milan tonight.
Rooney has been in incredible form this season, scoring 28 goals so far as Man United chase glory in both the League and Europe, and this has not gone unnoticed in Milan.
Ronaldinho said of the 24-year old England forward: “"Rooney was incredible in the first match,"
"We have watched videos of the game and the key to victory for us will be stopping him receiving the ball close to our penalty area.
"If we can stop him our own options soar. We can beat United”
Ronaldinho's confidence has not come out of nowhere, the Brazilian has himself seen a return to somewhere near his best form after three years in which he had been criticised for his lack of effort and his overweight frame.
The tie stands at the moment at 3-2 to United before tonight's match at Old Trafford , meaning that Milan effectively need to win by 2 goals tonight to progress to the quarter finals.
Ronaldinho was adamant that anything could happen though, stating: As far as I am concerned, this match is like the Champions League final itself.
"I see a very attacking game with many goals."
Manchester United will be confident that they can progress, especially with the 3 Aaway goals that thy scored at the San Siro, as they attempt to reach their third consecutive final, a feat unpresidented in the Champions League era.
Sir Alex Ferguson will be confident, surely, that even if Milan are able to keep Wayne Rooney under control his side have other players capable of winning the tie for Manchester United.
