Hull’s Meeting with Arsenal: Little Relief From Relegation Troubles

Hull square off against Arsenal this Saturday and as both sides suffer a significant amount of injuries the pressure is on them to achieve.
Hull have displayed an abysmal performance this season, sat at 19th place in the tables, with just 24 points, it is clear the side may be battling against relegation as the season comes to a close.
Hull manager Phil Brown will be lacking confidence due to his team conceding a total of 9 goals in only the past 3 fixtures. A substantial portion this occurred in the team’s last game against Everton which resulted in a 5-1 crushing of the northern side.
Hull’s injury list is fairly substantial with Gardener, Geovanni, Olofinjana, Ashbee and Marney all missing the match due to various afflictions.
Arsene Wenger will be pleased with Arsenal’s recent display of skill as they have only lost one match in the past 5, against Porto (2-1). The London team have succeeded 14 times on goal in these past 5 fixtures, the most recent fixture allowed a comeback against Porto where Wenger’s side managed to achieve a 5-1 defeat of the team.
The Arsenal injury list is widely extensive with 8 players not available to play on Saturday, these players include; Van Persie, Campbell, Djouru, Senderos, Fabregas, Gallas, Gibbs and Ramsey.
Wenger made this comment on the doubt cast over certain players, “Everyone else has recovered quite well from Tuesday night. Campbell looks better than expected today. Sagna has an ankle problem but we will assess that tomorrow. We will see how it develops and who is available, who I can play. We know we have 48 hours to prepare for this game and it is quite needed”.
Hull have only managed to defeat this London side once in their past 4 meetings. This success resulted in a 2-1 success over Arsenal, earlier in 2008, however since then Wenger’s squad have managed significant defeats over the northerners.
With it being clear that Arsenal, through evidence of their performance this season and particularly their most recent performances, are the clear favourite this Weekend at Kingston Communications Stadium, the odds stand, in favour of Arsenal, at 2/5 with Bet365.
