Josh Dubovie will be representing the UK at the Eurovision song contest.

The nineteen year old from Basildon in Essex beat of competition from six Eurovision hopefuls on Friday night’s Your Country Needs You!.

He’ll be singing “That Sounds Good To Me", produced by Pete Waterman and Mike Stock at the final in Oslo in May.

Dubovie impressed the judges and the public with his rendition of Jason Donovan’s Too Many Broken Hearts and the Eurovision song.

Twenty year old Alexis Gerred came second in the competition while seventeen year old Esma Akkilic was third. All-girl trio Miss Fitz, five-piece group Uni5 and 18-year-old Karen Harding were all knocked out in the first stage of the show.

After finding out her had won, Josh said: "I'm so so happy, I really can't believe it - is this real? I never believed I'd come this far," he added that "The minute I heard the song I thought it was a definite winner, I'm so happy I'm going to sing it in Oslo

Meanwhile, Pete Waterman said: "Josh performed it well and I've got a lot of faith in the public. Now it's off to Oslo and "that sounds good to me”!"

It seems the public are also behind Josh with William Hill revealing that they have taken hundreds of bets from punters predicting that he will win this year’s Eurovision song contest. He was priced at 33/1 but after a number of bets he now has odds to 25/1 to win the competition. They are also offering odds of 1/1 that the UK will finish in the top ten in Oslo, 6/1 for a top four finish and finally 16/1 that we’ll come last.

Paddy Power is currently offering 20/1 that Josh Dubovie will walk off with the prize and 20/1 that we will come last.

Last year’s winner of Your Country Needs You and Sugababes member, Jade Ewan, finished fifth at the Euorvision song contest in Russia with a song composed by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.

All odds correct at time of writing and are subject to change.
