Cheryl Cole Calls in the Divorce Lawyer?
Cheryl Cole has reportedly called in Prince Charles’ divorce lawyers to get advice on her divorce from Chelsea star Ashley Cole.
According to the Daily Mail the Girl’s Aloud singer Cole consulted Fiona Shackleton, the divorce lawyer who represented Sir Paul McCartney and Prince Charles on how to split their assets. However, it is not clear whether she has employed Shakleton’s firm Payne Hicks Beach yet.
It has been claimed that the X-Factor judge has been advised that the grounds for divorce should be unreasonable behavior, the fact that he sent lewd text messages to another woman, rather than adultery which is more difficult to choose.
A source close to the star told the Daily Mail said: “Cheryl is being told she should not drag this through the courts.
“Lawyers for Ashley could build a case that she wasn't the perfect wife either. She has hardly seen him for months on end due to work, her mother Joan's presence in the house has hardly been conducive to romance; she might occasionally have been demanding and moody.”
Last week the pair met for the first time since the split although reports claim that Cheryl chucked him out after just half an hour.
There have also been reports that Ashley asked his wife to postpone the split until after the world cup. The Sun says that the Chelsea star asked his wife to hold off on her plans for the separation till after this summer’s world cup in South Africa, causing Cheryl to “explode with rage”. A source told the paper: "Cheryl hit the roof. She flew off the handle and he knew instantly he'd said the wrong thing once again
