The Magazine tweeted “BIG NEWS! A Brides mole just saw Kate Middleton in Richard Ward hair salon with a MEGA huge engagement ring on!”

However, the Express newspaper claims that according to their investigations Kate hasn’t visited the beauty salon in the past week.

Meanwhile, the Telegraph is reporting that Kate is taking on more charitable engagements. A Royal courtier told the paper that "Kate's name is already down for certain events. She will take a higher profile before the engagement is announced."

Until now Kate has been involved with just one charity, the Starlight Children's Foundation- her parent’s company, which Kate works for, helps organise events for the charity which aims to brighten the lives of seriously ill children.

This recent announcement adds further fuel to rumours that Waity Katy as she has been dubbed by the media could soon be walking down the aisle with Prince William.

Just last month Diana’s biographer, Tina Brown, claimed that the couple could be announcing their engagement once the election was over. She claimed that the palace had cleared part of June’s diary so that they could make the official announcement then. She reckons that there could be a wedding as early as November but most Royal watchers agree that if there is to be a wedding it won’t be until next year.

Also adding to the argument that William could soon be proposing are seemingly offhand comments made in 2005 by William  -  who turns 28 next month  -  that he wouldn't marry until he was 'at least 28 or maybe 30'. He told reporters while on a skiing holiday in Klosters “Look, I'm only 22, for God's sake. I'm too young to marry. I don't want to get married until I'm at least 28 or maybe 30."

Betfair currently have odds of 9/25 that William will be the first prince to get engaged. They also have odds of 157/10 that younger brother Harry will pip him to the post and odds of 181/100 that there will be no engagement.
