Lorenzo Owns Rossi at Le Mans

Jorge Lorenzo took a more commanding lead of the 2010 Moto GP Championship at the weekend, after beating a slightly sore Valentino Rossi to the finish line at the world famous Le Mans circuit. Jorge Lorenzo celebrated the victory in his own special way, in Jerez he dived into a pond to cool off, this time he had a pre-placed chair and popcorn next to one of the giant TV screens at the circuit and watched some of his ‘best bits’.
Lorenzo is now nine points clear of Rossi with two victories all ready this year, and looks forward to another Yamaha circuit, the Mugello circuit in Italy. Rossi was obviously in pain at the Le Mans circuit showing that ‘The Doctor’ is not at 100%. After half the race this was clear as Rossi struggled under braking and this is where Lorenzo took advantage and romped home to take the chequered flag.
It was another weekend to forget for Ducati as Casey Stoner once again dumped his bike in the gravel, a clearly dejected Stoner seemed bemused by the situation talking to reporters at the circuit, saying “its not clear what the problem is” which is one of the worst things to hear in motor racing. If you know what the problem is you can address it or work round it, if not then you just carry on regardless and hope for the best.
Stoner's team mate had better fortune, Nicky Hayden took advantage of a close fought battle between the Honda riders. Pedrosa took a lot out of his bike after defending his position to his team mate and lost grip on the last lap and lost his 3rd place to finish 5th. Honda really are taking the fight to the other top teams and doing well, they just need to work on the longevity of the bike and keep the pace going all the way through the race.
Valentino is still top dog in the odds market and he will surely bounce back when he is fully fit, odds wise he is still 1/1 to win the title, Lorenzo looking feisty and a real threat to Rossi is second favourite at 5/6. If Stoner can address the issues he has with his bike then he will stand a chance, but will need a bit of good fortune at 14/1 to win the title. Odds from Skybet - place your bet now!
