According to Digital Spy Saturday night’s show which saw guest judge Nicole Scherzinger on the show but was without Cheryl because of her malaria saw early viewing figures show ratings rising above 11 million.

Saturday's fifth audition in Manchester, which saw the likes of Hazel Jackson and Chloe Victoria on the show, averaged 10.51 million (43.7 per cent) on ITV1, and 552,000 on HD - making a total of 11.07 million (46 per cent) between 7.30pm and 8.45pm. Meanwhile, at the same time, Merlin mustered 4.99 million (20.9 per cent).

And with the final audition being showed on our screens we now know just who is going through to boot camp.

After the Manchester auditions six hopefuls went through to join the likes of Gamu Nhengu and Annastasia Baker in boot camp.

It could it be third time lucky for ex-boot camp star Marlon McKenzie who wowed the judges on the show.

The 27 year-old has tried out for the X Factor twice before in 2005 and 2008 but failed to make it through to the live shows.

And he reckons that this time around he’s more prepared for the rigors of the show. He told the judges:

“This time I feel like I’ve evolved as a person, my whole attitude to life has changed. I’ve rehearsed as much as I possibly can. I’ve got two children. If I give up on my dream what’s that teaching them?

“I’ve got to show them that you don’t give up. If you get knocked back, you get back up and keep trying for your dream. I want to prove to the judges I can do this. I think this is definitely my year.”

Also through on Saturday’s show were Tobias Sumpton, Ramina Fahari, Carl Brown, Charlene Dawson, Harry Styles and Diva Fever.

Cher Lloyd is still favourite to win the show with odds of 11/4 with Bet365 and Betfred and 3/1 with StanJames.  While Liam Payne has odds of 6/1 with Skybet, Paddy Power and Boylesport.
