Taylor Cut To 3/10 For Darts Grand Prix
Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor has been cut to just 3/10 best price with Extrabet to win the Bodog World Grand Prix of Darts after a convincing win over Andy Smith.
Taylor, who has won nine of the 12 Grand Prix’s since the tournament began in 1998, booked a quarter final with Gary Anderson with a 3-0 victory over the unseeded Smith in Dublin, pushing him down to just 2/7 across the board and 3/10 best price with Extrabet.
Taylor is the only man on his side of the draw not to have dropped a set in his first two matches and is the only player in the tournament to have a three-dart average of more than 100 in any game, averaging 102.48 and 101.75 in his two games so far.
Second favourite Simon Whitlock plays Andy Hamilton tonight and his price of 8/1 with Sky Bet is expected to fall sharply, particularly with second seed Raymond van Barneveld failing to impress in his opening match.
Barney, 14/1 third favourite with Ladbrokes and Totesport, faces up to Mark Walsh in his second round match tonight, who impressed against Dennis Ovens in the first round.
Ladbrokes also have James Wade at 14/1 and he faces Colin Osbourne in tonight’s second round matches.
