Tina O’Brian misses Strictly due to chicken pox!
Tina O’Brian won’t be donning her dancing shoes for Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.
The former Corrie actress is suffering from chicken pox so won’t be able to dance on the show. She’ll automatically make it through to next week’s show but if she is then still unable to dance she will have to leave the show for good. Under the show’s rules they are allowed one week where they can pass through to the next round if they are injured or too ill to perform.
In a statement Tina said "I am devastated. I was so looking forward to this week's show. Jared and I have spent so much time and effort on a really fantastic routine and I just couldn't wait to perform it on Saturday.
Hopefully I will bounce back quickly and be on top dancing form soon, ready to come back straight into the next routine. I will be watching them all this weekend!"
Meanwhile, it has been reported that former Tory MP Ann Widdecombe won’t be leaving the show despite losing her brother to cancer. She learnt of the death while training with her dance partner Anton Du Beke on Tuesday.
However, according to the Daily Mail she will be remaining in the show, because it’s what her brother Malcolm would have wanted.
A source told the paper “Ann is being a stoic. The producers told her that, of course, she should miss this week’s show. But one of ¬Malcolm’s last acts of consciousness was to turn to the TV screen and laugh fondly at Ann.
“He loved her performance the week before. His wife, Meryl, and his children very much want Ann to continue to do the show.”
Countryfile presenter Matt Baker is currently favourite to win the show with odds of 11/5 with Boylesports and 2/1 with Bwin and Bodog.
