Wagner Cut To Just 10/1 After Surge Of Bets
Oddball act Wager has been cut massively by bookmakers to win this year’s X Factor after the launch of a social media campaign to support the 54-year-old Brazilian.
Wagner was available at a high of 150/1 with Unibet yesterday but has dropped to a low of just 10/1 with Bodog this morning after a flurry of cash was stumped up by punters in support of the wildcard act.
Wagner, who has already performed unique versions of Help Yourself and mash-ups of "She Bangs" / "Love Shack" and "Spice Up Your Life" / "Livin' la Vida Loca", has gained huge levels of support online following his entertaining performances, prompting bookmakers to make big cuts in price.
Unibet were best price at the start of the week at 150/1 but have since cut Wagner to win down to just 35/1. Coral has cut from 100/1 to just 16/1 whilst Betfred have cut from 80/1 to just 20/1.
The cut in price follows Monday’s news that bookmakers William Hill were spared a huge pay-out when Wagner and girl group Belle Amie remained in the competition after both acts were initially backed to leave the competition last week.
Despite the huge cuts in price however, Wagner is still 4/1 second favourite to be the next act eliminated from the competition, with Belle Amie the 2/1 favourites.
Matt Cardle remains the favourite at 7/4 best price with Betfred with One Direction next in line at a general 3/1.
