Boylesports Dismiss "Noisy Neighbours" City In Title Race
Arsenal are now the team to watch for Manchester United in the Premiership race after they were cut from 10/3 to 11/4 by Boylesports following their 3-0 hammering of West Ham on Saturday.
Arsene Wenger’s men are now second in the betting with Boylesports.com, although unbeaten United still lead the way at 5/6 to claim this season’s Premier League championship.
That puts Arsenal ahead of second in the table Manchester City, despite the “noisy neighbours” claiming a 4-3 win over struggling Wolves. Chelsea, who look to have reclaimed some form with a 2-0 win over Blackburn, also sit behind Arsenal at 13/2.
The win at Upton Park seemed to have signalled a return to form for Wenger’s talented side, after some disappointing results against Championship sides Leeds and Ipswich in the cup competitions last week.
The manner of victory, combined with Chelsea’s poor recent form and some questionable performances from Manchester City in recent weeks, has seen The Gunners firmly established as second favourites in the Premier League outright betting.
“Despite all the talk about Mancini’s millionaires, we think that Arsenal are the team that Sir Alex Ferguson needs to be worried about as he looks to bring the title back to Old Trafford,” said Boylesports.com Head of Public Relations Leon Blanche.
“The Gunners looked to be back to their old self at Upton Park after a difficult few weeks in the cup whilst City struggled to put away Wolves at Eastlands. The noisy neighbours still have some way to go before we’re convinced of their title credentials.”
At the other end of the table, West Ham are down to 4/7 for relegation after the defeat, their eleventh of the season. The prospect of Martin O’Neill’s arrival at Upton Park has failed to prevent the punters from backing the Hammers for the drop, who remain the big favourites to go down, along with Wigan and Wolves.
