Sir Alex Ferguson is confident of title success
It seems that Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is confident about his side's chances of successfully clinching this year's Premiership title, this will have been spurred on by his team's 1-0 victory over Everton over the weekend...
Javier Hernandez scored for the Red Devils to keep them a comfortable six points ahead of their rival Chelsea in the Premier League; the win has left Ferguson more than confident that his team will have what it takes to achieve a record 19th English league title.
Hernandez commented that he was extremely proud of his achievements and the goal against Everton, however, he admitted that he would swap all of his goals this season for a Premiership title.
Manchester United are now also nine points ahead of Arsene Wenger's Arsenal, although Wenger's side still have a game in hand.
"Games are running out for our rivals and we're up for it," said Ferguson.
"I enjoy this critical stage of a season when we are involved in big games that come thick and fast and I think we will be OK."
Ferguson went on to ruffle a few feathers with his comments concerning Chelsea and Arsenal's chances of beating his side when the teams meet towards the end of the season.
"The thing that puzzles me is they [the media] keep saying Arsenal and Chelsea have got to play us still, like we're going to lose to them," stated Ferguson. "But why shouldn't we win those games?
"As I said to the players, forget all that nonsense. Just try to win your games and you'll be all right, keep your heads and don't get carried away."
Manchester United will play Arsenal on May 1st, with Paddy Power, Bet365 and Bodog offering 6/4, 11/8 and 7/5 odds respectively of Arsenal walking away victorious.
