McLaren pair set out to pressure Red Bull
After a short break, things are starting to heat up again in the world of Formula One, as McLaren's Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button seek to put pressure on Red Bull in the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix.
Red Bull have undeniably been the dominant force amongst the racing teams for the majority of the season so far, however, McLaren have shown hints of promise and have put on an impressive display in their last two outings. Both Hamilton and Button have captured a victory in the last two races and these results have given the British pair a reason to be a little more optimistic about stopping the juggernaut that is Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel.
"Our aim will be to put pressure on the championship frontrunners, particularly Red Bull." commented Button.
"We go to Spa in a pretty good place. We've won the last two races and the car feels strong." added teammate Hamilton.
Although Vettel's superb performance so far is showing signs of faltering, McLaren know that they have their work cut out for them if they are to stop the young German driver from claiming another championship title. Hamilton is currently only third place in the drivers' championship, 88 points away from Vettel; meanwhile, Button is a further 12 points adrift.
Despite this, both drivers claim that they are feeling extremely refreshed from the recent summer break and both are positive about the challenge that lies ahead of them in Belgium.
"It felt great to go into the summer break off the back of the win in Hungary.” said Button.
We've worked hard to improve the set-up, so it's really inspiring confidence at the moment, which means you can push it that little bit further, particularly in qualifying," added Hamilton.
