'Team principal is safe' says Ferrari president
In spite of some recent speculation, it appears that Stefano Domenicali's job is not at any risk at this point in time...
There have been many rumours circulating that Domenicali's position as Ferrari team boss could be about to disappear, due to the fact that his team have been failing to match the performances that have been displayed by leaders Red Bull.
Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso is currently in second position in the driver’s championship; despite this, he is still a long way behind Red Bull leader, Sebastian Vettel, who sits at the top of the table with 284 points – Alonso has a mere 172, with only six races remaining this season.
It seems that the speculation has been in vain, as Ferrari president Luca di Montezemelo has confirmed that Domenicali will be continuing with his role during the next season. The Ferrari president was recently asked if Domenicali would be leading the team next season, to which he responded: “In a word, yes.”
"Stefano has all my commitment. He has a big commitment to deliver and so he will be very busy," he added.
Domenicali has recently been informing the Italian media of his plans to re-establish themselves as one of the leading forces in Formula One racing; he aims to have Ferrari become a dominating force, such as they were when they had Michael Schumacher driving for them.
"I am pleased to have what I think is the best driver in the world, that is Fernando and I'm pleased to see a good reaction from Felipe (Massa) in the second half of the season.” commented the Ferrari president.
Sky Bet, Victor Chandler and bet365 currently offer 7/2 odd that Lewis Hamilton will win the next Grand Prix in Singapore.
