Roberto Mancini expects improvement from Manchester City
It seems that victory for his side is not a good enough outcome for Roberto Mancini, as he demands further improvement from his side despite their recent victory...
Manchester City overcame Wigan with relative ease over the weekend, as they finished with a 3-0 scoreline at the Etihad Stadium; however, Mancini told press that he was displeased with the amount of chances that his side squandered during the match.
"We had 15 chances in the first half and we scored only one goal - this is a problem because the game can change any moment," said Mancini.
"Next time it's better if we close out the game in the first half. We need to improve because we have started the season very well but the season will be long.
"If we want to arrive at the end of the season still at the top we need to improve." he added.
The game saw Sergio Aguero obtain a hat-trick, while Carlos Tevez managed to miss a penalty; the latest result means that Manchester City have scored 15 goals in four league games so far this season.
Aguero now stands on a total of six goals, a total that has meant him outshining Tevez so far this season; despite this, Mancini has still praised the former captain's performance.
"Carlo is not 100% at the moment but I am happy for him because for me he played very well with Sergio," added the Manchester City boss. "He missed a penalty but this can happen - usually he scores.
"It was important for him to start, to play and to play well and maybe in two or three games he will be 100%."
William Hill, Boylesport and Sky Bet currently offer 15/8 odds that Manchester City will go on to win this season's Premier League title.
