Novak Djokovic discloses his secret to this year's success
The past year has been incredibly exciting within the sport of tennis; it has crowned a new king in the form of Novak Djokovic – the Serbian champion has been letting people know exactly how he has made his way to the top...
Djokovic has disclosed that the secret to his incredible form as of late has been aggression; he insists that his new found ability to dominate the tennis circuit was catalysed by taking a more aggressive approach when playing.
The aggressive approach that Djokovic has adopted has certainly been undeniably effective; he has just claimed his third Grand Slam title of the year, with a stunning victory over Rafael Nadal at the US Open.
The 24-year-old triumphed over the Spaniard 6-2 6-4 6-7 (3-7) 6-1 at Flushing Meadows, giving him his sixth final victory over Nadal this season, and cementing his place as the this year's most impressive performance. Djokovic has notched up an unbelievable 64 out of 66 wins in his matches this season.
"Something just clicked," commented the Serbian champion. "I'm more aggressive and I have a different approach to the semi-finals and finals of major events."
Despite things having “clicked” for Djokovic, he is still remaining cautious about his new found supremacy, saying: "I am not invincible”.
“I just think a positive attitude keeps you on top of your game when you go on court.”
"Of course I want to win more majors and prove things to myself. It would be unbelievable to complete the Grand Slam. I need to win the French Open, but I think it will take time."
Despite his superb season, Victor Chandler, William Hill and bet365 currently offer 11/4 odds thats Novak Djokovic will fail to pick up a Grand Slam title during 2012.
