William Hill scoop 'Operator of the Year' award

It appears as though the sky is the limit for popular British bookmaker William Hill; the company has added to its ever-growing list of achievements by scooping the much coveted title of 'Operator of the Year'...

The market leading bookmaker beat off some stiff competition in order to earn the highly renowned title from the 2011 eGaming Review awards; the title is quickly becoming known as one of the most tightly fought in all of the online gaming industry – making it a true honour to win.

The 2011 eGaming Review awards were recently held of an evening at the Honourable Artillery Club (HAC), London. This year marked the biggest and best of all eGaming Review awards; an evening of glitz and glamour was enjoyed by over 700 attendants, all of whom had arrived in order to pay tribute to some of the best and brightest that the online gaming industry has to offer. To mark the special occasion, the eGaming Review awards even featured the celebrity comedy stylings of Rufus Hound, who managed to keep the capacity crowd thoroughly entertained throughout the night.

Despite the celebrity guests, it was undoubtedly William Hill who stole the show, thanks to the judges describing their win as 'the turnaround story of 2011'.

The judges also commented on what exactly had put William Hill ahead of the pack in a category that featured some extremely close competition, saying: “William Hill Online has transformed its brand into a dynamic fresh faced online gaming brand and their momentum shows no sign of slowing down.”

The honour was well received by William Hill, with CEO Henry Birch saying: “The eGR award for operator of the year recognises the huge strides we’ve made over the last 12 months. I want to thank everyone at William Hill Online for all their hard work over the year - it has been fantastic!”
