Sebastian Vettel anxious to 'get his hands on' new Red Bull car
Following a nearly flawless performance during last season, all eyes will undoubtedly be on Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel as we head into 2012; however, it appears that Vettel currently has his mind elsewhere...
The young German driver has admitted that he his extremely anxious to get to grips with the Red Bull vehicle that he is to be driving during the 2012 season. Vettel has recently told press that both he and his team mate are very much looking forward to seeing what will be on offer to them as drivers in the upcoming F1 season.
"We are all curious about the car,” commented the 2010 and 2011 F1 world champion.
"We see it coming together. It's like a child being born. I'm not a father but they tell me that's how it feels," he added.
Vettel is one of only nine drivers who have managed to achieve the impressive feat of winning back-to-back titles; the German driver finished a whopping 122 points ahead of his nearest rival, making him a strong prospect to hold onto his title during the upcoming 2012 season.
Vettel has told press that he has used the Christmas and New Years holidays in order to relax and recover from the rigours of the previous season, which he says took its toll on him both physically and mentally.
"There isn't much of an off-season, so it's really important to use that to shut the system down, calm down and charge the batteries - not forget about F1 but forget for a while about all the stress," said the 24-year-old.
BlueSQ, Stan James and 888sport currently offer 9/2 odds that McLaren's Lewis Hamilton will go on to win the 2012 F1 drivers' championship.
